The Amazing Cucumber
(source: The New York Times)

1. To reduce wrinkles. No wonder even Warren Beauty used them on his eyes in Bugsy. Cucumber photochemicals cause collagen to tighten up, and this firms up the exterior layer. Use a slice. Or  a smashed paste.
2. To reduce cellulite. For the same previous reason. Right before going swimming, rub a slice or two for a few minutes on the problem area.
3. To avoid a headache or a hangover. Eat it before going to bed and get up fresh and headache free. They contain enough sugar, B vitamins and electrolytes to replenish essential nutrients lost to keep metabolism in balance and avoid hangovers and headaches.
4. To avoid overeating. Especially in the evening and night, use as a fast food to deceive the excessive hunger.
5. To avoid the fog on the mirror after a shower. It will also give you a spa calming fragrance.
6. To shine shoes.  Its chemicals will give a quick and lasting shine, that no only looks good but it repels water.
7. To fix a squeaking hinge. Out of W-40?
8. To erase crayons and markers off the wall. Use the exterior of the cucumber, also to erase pencil on paper if you don’t have an eraser.
9. for bad breath. Out of mint? Press a slice with your tongue against your palate. It will kill the bacteria that causes it.
10. To clean steel, other metals, and the dishwasher. Not only it will take off the opaqueness from years and restore shine, but it won’t affect your fingers and nails. Looking for a “green” cleaner?
11. To eliminate worms and other insects. Place some slices inside a tin can. The cucumber chemicals react with the can aluminum and produce an essence that plagues detest.

Going green to eat.

fruit
TOXINS, TOXINS, TOXINS, WHERE??? I don’t see them! And I don’t feel them. That’s the thing, because we don’t see them we think they don’t affect us.
But they build up, you will feel it, you’ll think you are just getting old, the truth is you are just getting intoxicated. The good new is if we do it to our selves, we can reverse it.TOXINS IN WHAT WE EAT.
HYDROGENATED OILS.  These are Trans fat. When you have a not completely saturated oil, it goes rancid quicker, and they are healthier. So to make them last longer and lower costs, they saturate them with Hydrogen. If anything you buy says partially Hydrogenated oil, that is trans fat and it is very damaging to the liver. These kind of oils have been forbidden from use in restaurants, a few years ago, but not from ingredients in food products, they only have to disclose the % of trans fats. Of course they all say 0% Trans fats, so to make sure read the ingredientes.
GRAIN OILS. All grain oils like corn, cotton seed, all seed oils, are not made with the first press in cold. The only oils made that way for 4,000 years now  are olive oil and sesame oil. I am not sure about peanut oil though. If you squeeze a seed and no oil comes out, what they do is a a chemical reaccion using alcohol and petroleum industry subproducts, they’re all toxic.
When you buy Olive oil make sure it says From first press in cold. After that they use chemicals to get more oil out of the bagasse, and they use chemicals just like with grains. This oil is usually light yellow as oposed to a darker green from the first press.
TEFLON. The one on your pans, it sticks to your food and straight to your mouth.
cake  Highly PROCESSED FOODS . These are the more processed foods: Package cereals, sugar, alcohol, (destiled even worse), processed meats like cold cuts, cokes, powder beverages, artificial pflavors, preservatives, artificial colors, aspartame, maltodexotrim, dextrose, natural flavors (they can hide anything they want behind the names like artificial / natural flavors) and all other chemicals hard to pronounce
NON ORGANIC CHICKEN. It contains DDE, a derivative of DDT.
NON ORGANIC MEATS. They contain antibiotics and hormones.
SEAFOOD FROM THE GULF. It contains Mercury, buy wild caught seafood from Alaska or Chile
COOKED OIL, FRIED FOOD. Oils suffer toxic chemical changes when heated up ti 350 or 400 degrees.
ICE CREAM AND DAIRY PRODUCTS. Containing cassein an enzyme only cows can digest with their 3 stomachs and that protects cancer cells.
SMOKED MEATS smoke contains many cancerigens.60 in cigarrettes, and 4,000 toxins.
NON ORGANIC FRUITS AND VEGETABLES.  They contain pesticides.
In one word, anything that is not natural.

Going green to clean.

Intoxication is always a component in all diseases. It is imperative that we desintoxicate, but it is easier not to get intoxicated. Two sources of toxins are cosmetics and cleaning products, especially all parabens, which produces cancer and it is forbiden in France and
Japan, but unfortunately not in the US. So beware.
But there are many other chemicals in all brand name cleaning products that will produce or aggravate symptoms like urticaria, sinus infections, digestive disorders, hormone and chemical disorders and organ dysfunctions. Just like the cleanest house is not the one that is cleaned the most but the one that doesn’t get dirty as much, so our bodies are the healthiest and cleanest from toxins the less you are exposed to them.By all means avoid bleach (cancerigen) and all brand cleaningproducts. After cleaning for 2 days with chemicals, you feel it in your bones, muscles and skin, You will feel nothing with this products. So here are some ideas on how to substitute them for more innocuous choices.
* For WINDOWS AND MIRRORS.
Mix Vinegar, rubbing Alcohol, and lemon juice. Much better for your skin than Windex.
* BATHROOMS, GROUT AND CERAMIC TILE. Mix Vinegar and Baking soda and use a brush. you can also use that hot steamer as advertisend on TV.
* INK ON CLOTHES. denaturalized alcohol, then wash
* CARPET. Just laundry detergent, in your carpet shampooer. It will smell better too.
* URINE and PET ODOR on CARPET. Mix vinegar (no water), rubbing alcohol, detergent, and a little baking soda. Or spread the baking soda on the carpet before shampooing, it will get both spots and odor. If the odor
comes back just spray vinegar with baking soda.
* KEYBOARDS, COMPUTERS DEVICES. Use rubbing alcohol.
* MOLD, MILDEW on hard plank. Use a power washer. For small areas just detergent and a brush. Vinegar and baking soda kill all kinds of fungus too. Just avoid bleach. The Universe always thanks you for everything you clean.
